Import a DXF profile

Bring a 2D DXF (laser/CAM outline) in as a sketch, then extrude it like any profile.

A 2D DXF — a laser-cut outline, a customer profile — becomes a normal sketch you can extrude.

Steps

  1. Import ▾ ▸ DXF → sketch in the top bar (or Ctrl+I), then pick the file. You can also drag the .dxf straight onto the viewport.
  2. Choose the sketch plane and the file's units.
  3. Filter by layer when the file mixes cut lines with annotations (e.g. keep OUTER, INTERIOR). The layer list appears automatically when the file has more than one.
  4. Extrude the imported sketch.

Supported entities: lines, circles, arcs, polylines (including bulge arcs). Text, dimensions and anything else are skipped — and the dialog reports exactly what it skipped, so nothing is lost silently.
